Old meets new in this Sanpou Tokusa bowl. Tokusa is a traditional Japanese pattern with radiating blue lines on white. Originating in the Edo period, the pattern is inspired by the tokusa or rough horsetail plant and symbolizes prosperity, success, and good fortune. Sanpou means "to stroll," which the wavy edge of the bowl implies.
