Our New Limited-Edition Togetherness Trays: Eat Your Way to Luck
Our new Togetherness Trays are here! And this year they're extra special.
Togetherness Trays are candy holders especially used for Lunar New Year. They often come with six compartments. That's because the number six sounds like "smooth" in Chinese, as in smooth sailing.
Our newest Togetherness Trays are limited edition with Pearl River Mart's original artwork. One is a double fish, Pearl River Mart's logo and one of eight Buddhist treasures, symbolizing happiness, freedom, and tenacity. The other is a round Chinese zodiac, embodying unity, perfection, and harmony.
You can get the trays with or without candy. For the ones with candy, these are the lucky treats you'll receive and what they mean:
- Lucky candy — Good fortune and prosperity. Strawberry lucky candies in their auspicious red and gold wrappers are a must-have during Lunar New Year.
- Ginger chews — Health and longevity. Ginger might also help with nausea and indigestion.
- Mandarin jelly candies — Good fortune and prosperity. Oranges and tangerines abound during Lunar New Year since their names in Chinese sound like “luck” and “wealth.”
- Peach gummies — Long life. In Chinese myth, the Peaches of Immortality are eaten by immortals to maintain their infinite lives. It's often seen in Chinese art as a symbol of longevity.
- Guava candy — Health, prosperity, and rejuvenation. These fragrant treats are wrapped in bright green, another fortunate color in Chinese culture. It represents health, wealth, and the rebirth of spring.
- White Rabbit candy — Sweets for a sweet year! A longtime nostalgic favorite.
While mail orders can't be guaranteed for Feb. 17 (Lunar New Year Day), remember that Lunar New Year lasts for two whole weeks, ending with the Lantern Festival on March 3. That's plenty of time to celebrate and reap lots of luck!
